Common Good City Farm Events and Workshops 2010

Year 2 on the site brings great expansion of growing area and community involvement!

Common Good City Farm 2008 - 2009

Common Good began transforming the baseball field of the closed Gage Eckington School in October 2008. Half of the 1/2 acre field is cultivated today. We are building soil structure on the other half and plan to cultivate the entire field in 2010.

Common Good City Farm and the LeDroit Park Project

Common Good City Farm is one element of a large redevelopment project on the grounds of the closed Gage Eckington Elementary School. The 3-acre site will be a public park, playing field, dog park and gardens. Mayor Adrian Fenty kicked off the demolition on August 4th, 2009, which will last 9-12 months.

Common Good City Farm, 2007 - 2008

Before Common Good City Farm moved to Ledroit Park, we were less than a mile away, on 7th Street, in the Shaw neighborhood.  These are photos from those two seasons as "The 7th Street Garden".
